This is one of Manhattan's favourite neighbourhoods du jour - there are so many new lounges, cafés and shops opening here, as well as some more established spots that we recommend trying while in the area.

For a unique celebrity café experience visit TeaNy, the famed tea shop/café opened up by Musician/DJ Moby, located at 90 Rivington Street, between Ludlow and Orchard Streets. They have over 98 different varieties of tea, and a lovely menu with options for everyone - from salads to sandwiches and something in between, not to mention delectable sweets! They serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea.

For a modern take on NYC classics, don't miss Essex Restaurant, located at 120 Essex Street on the corner of Essex and Delancey Streets for one of the city's favourite brunches - $16 for your meal and 3 cocktails! Or try them for one of their great daily specials - Wednesday is $16 lobster night and ˝ price drinks.

Or for a fun night grab a signature cocktail and dine on original and unique "small plates" at Stanton Social at 99 Stanton Street (between Orchard and Ludlow Streets) and then head over to The Laugh Lounge, 1 block away, at 151 Essex, between Stanton and Rivington Streets. They have comedy shows almost every night of the week and feature some of NYC's top comedians.
