Price per night: $195 - minimum stay 7 nights and minimum age 12.

This 2/4 person loft studio apartment is located in one of Manhattan's trendiest and most exciting neighborhoods.

Right in the middle of it all, this apartment is ideally situated - just a short walk from Union Square, Tompkins Square Park, Washington Square Park, NYU, and St. Mark's Place.

The area is abounds with great restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. There are 6 different subway stations all within a few blocks of the property - the closest is on First Avenue and 14th Street, only 4½ blocks away.

The peaceful and artful loft studio is located on the second floor (no lift) and sleeps 2/4 with one double loft bed and a large sleeper sofa. There is one bathroom.

With wooden floors, very high ceilings and lots of light, this studio has a definite feel of space. The owner is Buddhist and has tastefully created a beautiful wall shrine with antique art and statues. The space has a very calming and comfortable feel, the artwork displayed reflects the owner's creative and zen attitude.

This property is ideal for a couple or a small family, but could just as comfortably accommodate 2 couples. Because of the many pieces of art on display we do ask that all guests have a minimum age of 12.

The apartment is entered via the kitchen area (12ft6 x 9ft6, 3.8 m x 2.9m) with its wooden floors and white countertops. It has all the expected appliances including fridge/freezer, microwave, convection oven, gas range and oven, coffee maker, kettle and toaster.

Across from the cooking area is a desk with chair, perfect for operating a laptop.

There is wi-fi internet access but no phone service in this property.

The living area (12ft6 x 11ft, 3.8m x 3.4m) is located just beyond the kitchen, behind a high counter which divides the space and creates a separate living room For added privacy there is a curtain above the countertop that can separate the room even more. The décor is Buddha meets funky downtown artist (!) - with original and inspired art on the walls.

The space has a genuine cowhide carpet, a giant 3-seater leather sleeper sofa (the mattress is 80" x 60"), several side tables and drawers available for storage. Above the sofa is a remote controlled stereo and in front is a television. There are two large windows at the front of the apartment which let in loads of light and look out onto picturesque 10th street below.

The loft bedroom (9ft9 x 6ft9, 3m x 2m) is located at the back of the apartment and is accessed by a four-step ladder. The area is small but not cramped, with a very comfortable double bed (75" x 54") outfitted with a European feather bed down comforter and 1200 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. You will sleep soundly in this peaceful and cozy space.

Here there is also a night table with reading lamp, and an iPod doc if you like to listen to music while you relax in bed. This sleeping area is separated from the rest of the apartment by its height as well as by a small partition creatively constructed with hanging frames. The effect is pleasing to the eye as well as effective.

The bathroom is located beneath the loft bedroom and down the hall. It has a basin, loo and bathtub and over-shower fitted with a "Rain Forest" showerhead.

There are so many places to visit, shop or dine at in this neighborhood. One of our favorites is The Smith Bar and Restaurant at 55 Third Ave. between 10th and 11th Streets. (212-420-9800). A casual American brasserie great for lunch or dinner with a delicious brunch on weekends, they have a beautiful bar and a tasty menu of classic and signature cocktails. Open until midnight during the week and 2am on weekends - don't miss it!

For a cheese lovers check out East Village Cheese at 40 Third Ave and 10th Street. This is NYC's best kept secret for quality, hard to find cheeses (they have over 100 varieties) at extremely low prices. They also have an olive bar and a terrific deli - great for one of those nights you'd like to stay in but still eat like a gourmet!

For dessert, you could try New York's most exclusive and popular sweet spot: Chikalicious Dessert Bar at 230 10th Street, (212-995-9511) located conveniently across the street! This amazing dessert-only restaurant seats only 20, and limits each party to 4 or smaller. They don't take reservations so go early to enjoy their delectable 3 course seasonal prix fixe dessert menu for $12, with a wine pairing for only $7 more.
